Being nice to a girl is his personality or he likes the girl?

He told a girl he could never get at her and waited for her on IM. Then came some confusion and the guy became more distant they have some communication problem so the girl doesn't know why he doesn't want to talk to her because of his military service (not Iraq in asia) or because she told him she moved to another town with her BF. She likes the guy and gave him a PSP for a present because he wanted but this is not the problem..she doesn't kow if he cares if she a BF or not..before it seems that he didn't. Now she doesn't know if he is just busy or he is ignoring her..lots of confusion what should she do...
