When I converted over 30 years ago the Imam chose my name. I have yet to have it legally changed because I choose to honor my Father and Mother by being identified by the name that they chose for me.The depths of your belief do not hinder on what you are called. And for the record there is no such animal as a Christian name, a Jewish name or an Islamic name. Names where and are derived from the regions people hail, there trade and genealogy. But if you were asking just to get an idea of the name you wish to be known by then pick one that closely resembles your character.

As-salaamu 'alaikum sister Aishah!

I just wanted to say congratulations to a new sister in Islam. :) I am an American, and I converted about a year ago myself. Don't worry about the ignotant people who replied to this question, they know nothing about the incredible beauty and peace of Islam.

If you want to talk please feel free to contact me- I would love to hear your story of how you went to the UAE, and how you became Muslim, alhamdoulillah. Unfortunately I don't have any advice as far as changing your name legally (as was the question), but I just wanted to give you my salaam and many kind regards. May Allah bless you and make it easy for you with your family and the changes in your life.

No you do no longer could replace your call, as long because it incredibly is has a good which skill and is no longer against Islam, etc. yet no it would not could be an "Arabic"call many persons do exactly there are various reasons for doing so, I did it so i'd desire to be popular as a muslim of path my mom and my relatives and many of my pals nonetheless call me Megan, yet maximum of my muslim pals call my Khadijah, between the flaws you will evaluate while you're going right into a great community of muslims, than it fairly is fairly useful to %. a popularity to circulate via because of the fact human beings could have difficulty asserting your call etc. yet you could save your names as long because it would not propose something undesirable, would not worship fake Idols, Like if your call replaced into Christian or Christine. Or if your a woman named after an angel because of the fact thats what the pagans used to do yet or you do no longer could replace your call.

Principally you are not bound to change your name SISTER.
But if you wish you have chosen a buetifull name. This is the name of Mother of Ummah, beloved wife of Prophet Muhammad(pbuh).
You can go to your embessy, legal department in U.A.E. as well, to legalise it.
Congratulations on reverting to original religion,
Religion of Prophet Abraham, Religion of Prophert Moses, Religion of Prophet Jesus (Peace and blessings og Almighty God on all of them).

Prophet Muhammad never taught us to give bad names to other Prophets in fact we are not Muslims if we do not respect all Holy Prophets.
So called followers of ........ are showing what they believe and in they are showing they do not Follow Prophet Moses, or Prophet Jesus sinserely.

Islam is the only religion who recognize all Holy Prophet, as said by Qura'n and Last and final Prophet Muhammad(pbuh).

Congratulation again sister Aisha. May Allah bless you and your family.Amen.

A rose by any other name would still smell as sweet. A delusion with different names is still a delusion.
