I am in my teens and I am finding it hard to keep my concentration, have a dry, thirsty feeling in my mouth all the time and am underweight, with a BMI of 16, and I don’t know why. I go pale suddenly and feel faint and weak; my legs tremble and feel close to collapse. Today after only half an hour of swimming I collapsed in the change rooms and threw up. There are other things that aren’t right either. What could it be?

I have been to a doctor- i get the results in 2 days. I'm just worried. And I'm not bulimic or anorexic, and I have a very balanced diet, you can be sure of that. I love my carbs.

You need to definitely talk with your family physician. if you are active are you eating enough calories during the day? It is possible you are anemic your Dr. can check that with a simple blood test.

Sound like hypoglycemia to me. That's low blood sugar in plain English. Your blood test will tell you if that's what it is. It's a form of diabetes but instead of high sugar levels they get too low and make you feel weak and ill. Leave off the sugar and refined carbs and eat mostly proteins until you get your test results.

Mostly, lack of concentration is due to lack of sleep, or not having the right diet and food nutrients. thirsty feeling is bcoz of not drinking enough plain water...Eat more grain and meat, avoid too many oils. eat according to time, three meals a day, at least. Mostly, it's becoz of unhealthy eating habit!

you definitely have to consult a doctor. then probably consult a nutritionist to help you gain weight and eventually your strength. there are so many reasons to your symptoms. don't panic and do not assume it's cancer or aids right away. it may be a curable disorder. the only way to be sure is to consult a doctor. get more sleep and eat averagely. i hope you're not forcing yourself to throw up after every meal. that's just bullimic!

I think it might be stress related if it's not diet related. Maybe you have a mild low blood pressure. Don't put so much pressure on yourself!
Doctor should know better whats going on.
I hope you get well! =]

It can be a myriad of things, its impossible to tell you online. Please seek medical attention immediatly. The sooner you seek medical attention the faster you can get treatment for something simple or serious, either way , sooner is always better in this type of situation.
