Yes the ALLIES would have beaten Japan only with more casualties. The occupation would have been different as there wouldn't have been as much rebuilding required or as many sick to look after.
The real question is - If the US hadn't dropped the bomb would there have been a nuclear war later with the USSR? As no one would have known the devistation that could be caused.

There was no way Japan could have won World War II. The country was almost completely blockaded, and so oil, steel, and food were all in short supply. The Allies conducted a wide-ranging bombing campaign that destroyed all major Japanese factories and infrastructure. Without the a-bomb, Japan would not have ever surrendered. Instead the Allies would have had to conduct a land invasion at the cost of hundreds of thousands of civilian causalities (the Japanese military had organized civilians into defense brigades) and many more American military deaths. When the Allies finally did win Japan would have been so wrecked that the concept of surrender would've been meaningless.

Japan had already lost the war, Germany had lost, and they were in surrender negotiations. The atomic bombs were not necessary, it is common knowledge that the US wanted to test them somewhere far from them and their allies and take revenge for Pearl Harbour.
As for Japan and Germany's technology, this is a result of the fact that part of their surrender treaty was the condition that they wouldn't develop weapons, so they put their money on developping cars and computers instead.
By the way, the war had ended, you wouldn't have to fight on Japanese territory. You don't always need to conquer a country to beat it, JApan was already beaten, there was no question of conquering it.

We would still have won. Japan was all but beaten when the bombs were dropped. But it would have cost a lot more lives on both sides. Japan was prepared to fight right down to the last women and child. We would have continued to bomb them into submission destroying more cities and taking more lives then the A-bombs eventually did.

Japan was already on its last legs when Hiroshima and Nagasaki were hit. Whether or not they would have surrendered without the US having to invade the Japanese homeland is another story. US miltary command estimated that an invasion of Japan would have cost the US up to 1 million casualties and many millions of Japanese casualties. The end result would have been the same but it would have dragged on longer and cost more lives without the atom bombs

Yes we would have beaten Japan, but it would have been at the cost of millions of lives. We would have had to go in on the ground & the Japanese people would have defended their emperor & their way of life to the death. If we didn;t help to rebuild Japan after WWII, we may have had to go back later to mop up the mess in a WWIII or a conflict similar to Korea.

the japs were beaten, nuke or no nuke !!!!
the nuke bombings were just a show of power !
why, do you think Hiroshima city ( a major ship building and naval base ) was ever conventional bombed and flatten ? unlike Tokyo and many other cities and bases.
the outcome would have been the same.
just a little bit less resentment and a little bit less American stature.

We would still have won. Wars are won with money and industrial production. Both of which America had much more of than Japan(at the time). Cosidering all the deaths and the horror of a land invasion I do not believe the Japanese people would be as friendly to us as they are now.

I believe that after the war treaty was signed that stated Japan could not have a military anymore it budgeted money toward technological advancement rather than military expense. (Japan still has a National Guard though.)

Yes, the US would have beaten Japan. Truman used the nukes to end the war faster than it was going, and to show off to the Russians that he had nukes and was not afraid to use them.
