List the counties that does not have a spelling contest?

A Russian woman once told me neither she nor her husband (also Russian could handle spelling out loud as in English spelling bees. Russian is phonetic so there's no need for spelling contests in Russian.

French spelling contests are always written, and go by paragraph, not word, since French spelling is very closely related to grammar (ie chasser chassées chassé chassez are all spelt the same and the question is more knowing which fits in a given sentence).

Come to think, it doesn't look like English is your first language, so maybe you don't know that English spelling contests are usually "spelling bees" in which each contestant stands up and is given a single word to spell out loud. If s/he is wrong, the next contestant tries the same word. The winner is the last one to not spell any of his/her words wrong.

In China, people don't hold spelling contests coz their written language is in characters instead of alphabetical letters.
Japan.
when learning a foreign language like English, people can't really avoid spelling contests, in any country....
