...and does anyone know about or have major depressive disorder with psychotic features or borderline personality disorder? I need some advice on different treatment options.

I was there because the unhealthy way I cope is self injury and I had to get staples. I've been doing it since I was 9 so please...I know how bad and addictive it is.
I feel worse because I caused so many problems for my family while I was there. I didn't really need to be there because it didn't change anything. I still have the urge to hurt myself and I am still working on it the same way I was before.

i worked in a psychiatric hospital for over 20 years and most people left, feeling better. i saw the u tube video, and get tired of people complain of psychiatrists just masking the symptoms of mental illness. that is not true, they alleviate the symptoms of mental illness, because there is no cure, and that's the only choice they have with an organic mental illnesses. it sounds like you may have a cognitive illness, which is psychological. treatment for that usually is self help groups, and sessions with a psychologist. do not feel bad that your family has suffered, because i am sure you are the one that suffered the most. it is not your fault. do not self diagnose yourself with illnes such as major depressive disorders, or other illnesses, it will just confuse you. that is what a psychologist is for, if the psychiatrist cannot find a organic mental illness. if you type in cutting yourself on yahoo search bar you will find all kinds of help and information re self injury, and support groups. i suggest you start there. hope this is help full. you can get better. good luck

Well, the main thing is that they (your family) care about you. Sometimes the things that you need weren't available at that hospital. I know many of my patients don'y want to leave because coming/going from/to a hospital/home is tough, Especially because sometimes you are nto as easily able to concetrate on your issues at home. Email me and I can help you some, if you want.
