In depends on the Age , sex , Human Body , Geographic and climatic condition.

Normal Person :
For a Normal person with balanced Age , sex , Human Body , Geographic and climatic condition 8 glass of water is adequate.

Hot summer :
As much as u feels comfortable to drink .

Cold Winter : with snow fall ..
Less water is needed y the body may be 1 - 3 glass.

Consult a doctor because it's better to give them milk than water.

Water is indeed important for all body functions, the skin included. The body is 65-75% water. The basic formula in US terms is: 1/2 your body weight in pounds in ounces of water for average daily function. If you weigh 120 pounds then: 120 divide by 2= 60; therefore 60 ounces of water daily.
Conversion: 1 pound (lb) = 2.2 Kilograms
1 ounce = 30 ml
If you are excersizing, or have excess stress, or eat more sugar, etc. then you need more water. Also, if you drink caffeine, that cancels out water intake, so you need to increase. A well balanced diet is also essential, and to maintain water balance the body needs magnesium and potassium in particular. But don't overdo the water alone as it can cause an imbalance in the electrolytes and can make you seriously ill - and can even cause death. But in proper proportion it is great for the body's health and well being!

For overall good health ( not only for the skin), at least 8 litres of water should be taken in a day.

Everyone here is right on with the 8 glasses of water a day. But PLEASE DO NOT MAKE THE MISTAKE of drinking too much water. More is NOT better... Please, read this article:

Yes, a woman died in Northern California from drinking too much water! Be careful. Stay hydrated, but don't over-consume.

FYI - don't forget about water externally for your skin, too. Water misted on your face is also a secret used by Hollywood makeup artists, and it's especially recommended (they sell portable Evian mister bottles in most beauty supply stores) - whenever you travel to other drier climates, and especially indoors in the Winter, when heaters are on all the time.

The human body requires a fresh supply of water every day. Not only is water one of the most abundant nutrients available, but it's also the most important. Water helps regulate and maintain your body temperature, transports nutrients and oxygen, removes waste products, and moistens your mouth, eyes, nose, hair, skin, joints, and digestive tract. Limiting your water intake can result in dehydration, elevated body temperature, fatigue, decreased performance, and increased risk of heat-related illness. Consume at least ten 8-ounce glasses of water per day. you can use the water calculator below to determine your suggested daily water intake based on your weight and activity level at http://www.hydroxycut.com/MEN/CALCULATORS/WATER/index.shtml

where does this human live ,is it in the tropics ,does he sweat a lot ,is he a sportsman and also sweats a lot
does he sith behind a desk all day in a cold country
this is all relevant
soups ,tea ,coffee ,cooldrinks ,juices all count as water (with a flavor)and this you must also count

the body knows how much water is needed
these rules on how much water to drink are silly
they forget the teas, coffees and soups

just trust your instincts

eat when your hungry
drink when your dry
and look every man in the eye

that is the code of the west
