I used to vomit with my menstral cycle. It turned out that i had Poly Cyctic Ovaries and I used to vomit and have extreme pain because i had such a severe shift of hormone levels. I suggest u get to a doctor and ask to a referral to an endicrinologist (hormones specialist). Since seeing the doctor I barely notice that I even have my periods now.

general info...

Much pain is from muscles below is an example of what may help (based on headaches).
Begin with a couple swigs of molasses or a couple of bananas daily - magnesium (which regulates many things in the body) and potassium (a needed building block for muscles).
Drink at least 1/2 gallons of water per day. Running a body low on water is like running a car low on oil is the analogy the head of neurology at UCDavis told my husband about 10 years ago.

Now to the cause - muscles - your back, neck shoulders and head have tender spots. They are knots in the fibers of the muscles called trigger points. It makes the muscles tight which makes them press on nerves and other things causing the pain.

The cure - start with a professional massage, you will also want to go back over any place you can get to 6-12 times per session up to 6 times per day rubbing (or lightly scratching on your head) every where that is tender until the knots go away. The place where the skull connects to the spine press up under the edge of the skull (to get to those muscles).

For more information read The Trigger Point Therapy Workbook by Davies. It teaches what to do and where the pain comes from.

you should make an appt soon to see your gynocologist.

severe menstrual cramps are a problem for alot of women. causes can be-cysts on ovaries, fibriods in uterus or ovaries, too drastic of a hormonal shift during ovulation..

that fact that the pain is so severe that you vomit is great cause for concern-you could get dehydrated very easily.

the problem could be fixed easily with birth control pills but check with your dr-he/she will know what is best for your situation

you can take ibuprofen for pain (if not allergic) 200-400mg every 6 hours as needed but no more than 1200mg in 24 hours.

take a warm bath (this helps soothe my cramps)
rest as much as possible
drink sprite or similar to help ease the nausea or vomiting (crackers, rice, soup, applesauce, and toast will help too-avoid spicy or salty foods)
use a heating pad to your stomach area ( but make sure NOT to appy it directly to your skin-burns can result and NEVER sleep with one)

playex makes special heating pads that stick to the outside of your undergarments and use your body's own heat to warm them up-they are good for 8 hours, you can sleep with them, and they work great-i love em!! any local drug/grocery store should have them in the female products isle

make sure to followup with your dr-only he/she can provide the right care that is best for you!!

Drink in a lot of water or taken in a lot of fluids a day or two before you are due. Don’t miss a meal during this time. It is mostly due muscle fatigue or dehydration. You can also look for information in the web. I found this website very useful. http://aches.in/cramps.html

Vomiting isn't normally associated with a menstrual period. I think you should contact your doctor and be seen as soon as possible.
