In order to be perfect can't you only create perfect things?

2007-02-26 18:53:19 · 20 answers · asked by jeanette t 2 in Society & Culture Religion & Spirituality

You may think this is your right or freedom but I warn you this attitude will lead you astray and when you think you are finding wisdom you will really be finding confusion, doubt and death because of arrogant pride which blinds the mind. If you learn to love God you will understand.

eehem....excuse me while I wipe the soap out of my eyes.......now if I may respond.
DOES GOD NOT FORCE US TO QUESTION ALL THINGS
FREE WILL RIGHT???
I mean christians say God did this becuase he wanted people to worship him becuase "THEY WANTED" to not because they were "FORCED" too. Yet you ask a question and basically get accused of blasphemy from right winged close minded fundamentalist christians as usual.
You know I will always question and nobody will get a hold of my free will, free thinking mind......you can drink the kool-aid all the time however if you like.

Thanks everyone else for the non condemning answers.
I appreciate them.

But a perfect thing that is perfectly free can choose to no longer be perfect, otherwise it is not perfectly free.

Gen 1:31 Then God saw everything that He has made, and indeed it was very good. So the evening and the morning was the sixth day. All that God created was perfect and very good. When Adam sinned he and Eve and all creation became corrupted and subject to death. God created perfect Adam and Eve with the free will to decide not to eat from the tree of knowledge of good and evil. But tempted by the devil they ate it and creation has started from then to go downhill ever since. But God has a plan to redeem and restore all things through Jesus Christ. There will be a new heaven and new earth and everything will be perfect again.

only a perfect being can create a perfect being, but it is nor required to do so. it may choose to create imperfect beings if desired. it has the power to do perfect creations or lesser than perfect creations and the free will to choose.
A true god must be free of any compulsion to be all powerful so if it was REQUIRED that a perfect god create only perfect beings, then something other than god or higher than god would have to impose the requirement. The very nature of godness requires that GOD be all powerful and thus nothing is impossible for god. if it can create pefection, how much easier can it create inperfection?

It is true that an imperfect creature cannot create a perfect creature, but the reverse is not true.
It is much more amusing for a god to create imperfect creatures and observe them err. how funny to watch. perefction can be very boring after an eternity.

God didn't create imperfect creatures, He created *finite* creatures - there is a difference|

A finite thing can be perfect, and all that God creates is perfect|

However, perfection in that does not mean that it must be equal to God, but that within its limits, it is without flaw or defect|

Whereas God is perfect *absolutely,* created things that come from the hand of God are perfect *relatively* - or are said to be perfect within their own genus|

Now about imperfection and evil in the universe|

That is all to do with the abuse of free-will that God has given his rational creatures|

For example, all of man's disorder and misery are due to Original Sin|

But there has been disorder and misery long before that in nature|

There is an original sin behind the original sin of Adam, and that is the revolt of Lucifer|

His revolt (non-serviam), put disorder into the universe as a whole|

I believe that things such as mosquitoes and black flies (and all the other adversarial elements of nature - red in tooth and claw), were due to the disordering influence of that original revolt, as the original purpose of Lucifer was to rule the universe under God - but as we know, he wanted to *be* God himself - insubordination is a grave grave evil|

Evolution is a good theory as to how God might have caused life-forms to emerge (forget this natural selection garbage), for God, although He can always act immediately, most often delegates his actions to lower causes|

So it can be hypothesized that Lucifer put a bad monkey wrench into the programming of evolution, introducing what we might call viruses into it|

So if anything is wrong with creation, the fault is all on our side (and that of the devils), and not God|

The first man and woman created by God were perfect. Creation was perfect. Animals were vegetarians and existed in harmony with nature.

After the fall of man and woman, sin entered the world, and with it creation fell as well.

A perfect being like God would have to create a world that allowed for imperfection due to the concept of free will, else God's creation would be only a world of robotic beings, with no ability to choose.

These concepts require a knowledge of philosophy, logic, and theology in order to fully understand the perfect nature of a divine being. I recommend you study the topic: "attributes of God" in order to fully appreciate the issues.

God created us in His Image- we chose to sin. He created us to have a perfect relationship with Him, however, because He did not want us to be puppets on a string- he created us to have a free will. We disappointed Him, HOWEVER, He loves us so much that He sent His Son Jesus into the world to die on the cross to pay the price that we could never pay to save us from sin, and rose so that we can victory over sin- and become perfect through the righteousness of Christ.

because we were all meant to be different...not everyone is going to worship the same god, nor be the same sex or have the same orientation...if the world was perfect, it would be a very boring world. Being a pagan myself, I know how it is to be imperfect, but no man is perfect, I'm happy with who I am and everyone else should be happy because who are we to question to higher powers of this universe?

The fact is imperfect beings (humans) created the idea of God, and perfected it, within the limits of human capacity, to its present, nearly perfect, form.

Because a perfect world would be boring and we need challenges. If things were perfect, we'd have no reason to try to improve things and learn.

Only God can be absolutely perfect, creation entails in itself imperfection because you are created not self existent, dependent not independent, weak not almighty, ignorant about many things above you not omniscienct because you are the highest of things(as God) and so on and so on. Get it ? But the bible does promise a perfection by the divine becoming united with flesh in Jesus and lifting us up to a high destiniy in Christ, to be called Sons and daughters of God. I would simply remind you to remember your place that God is God and you are dust, how dare you criticise what God has made? You may think this is your right or freedom but I warn you this attitude will lead you astray and when you think you are finding wisdom you will really be finding confusion, doubt and death because of arrogant pride which blinds the mind. If you learn to love God you will understand.

This is the bible speaking to Christians who have received the adoption through Christ which the world which is not adopted and does not know God does not know.

1 John 3:1 "See how much the Father has loved us! His love is so great that we are called God's children and so, in fact, we are. This is why the world does not know us: it has not known God. 2 My dear friends, we are now God's children, but it is not yet clear what we shall become. But we know that when Christ appears, we shall be like him, because we shall see him as he really is. 3 Everyone who has this hope in Christ keeps himself pure, just as Christ is pure.

4 Whoever sins is guilty of breaking God's law, because sin is a breaking of the law. 5 You know that Christ appeared in order to take away sins, and that there is no sin in him. 6 So everyone who lives in union with Christ does not continue to sin; but whoever continues to sin has never seen him or known him. 7 Let no one deceive you, my children! Whoever does what is right is righteous, just as Christ is righteous. 8 Whoever continues to sin belongs to the Devil, because the Devil has sinned from the very beginning. The Son of God appeared for this very reason, to destroy what the Devil had done. 9 Those who are children of God do not continue to sin, for God's very nature is in them; and because God is their Father, they cannot continue to sin. 10 Here is the clear difference between God's children and the Devil's children: those who do not do what is right or do not love others are not God's children.

11 The message you heard from the very beginning is this: we must love one another. 12 We must not be like Cain; he belonged to the Evil One and murdered his own brother Abel. Why did Cain murder him? Because the things he himself did were wrong, and the things his brother did were right 13 So do not be surprised, my friends, if the people of the world hate you.

14 We know that we have left death and come over into life; we know it because we love others. Those who do not love are still under the power of death. 15 Those who hate others are murderers, and you know that murderers do not have eternal life in them. 16 This is how we know what love is: Christ gave his life for us. We too, then, ought to give our lives for others! 17 If we are rich and see others in need, yet close our hearts against them, how can we claim that we love God? 18 My children, our love should not be just words and talk; it must be true love, which shows itself in action. 19 This, then, is how we will know that we belong to the truth; this is how we will be confident in God's presence.

20 If our conscience condemns us, we know that God is greater than our conscience and that he knows everything. 21 And so, my dear friends, if our conscience does not condemn us, we have courage in God's presence. 22 We receive from him whatever we ask, because we obey his commands and do what pleases him.

23 What he commands is that we believe in his Son Jesus Christ and love one another, just as Christ commanded us. R9 24 Those who obey God's commands live in union with God and God lives in union with them. And because of the Spirit that God has given us we know that God lives in union with us.
