Get a band made from fabric and replace the metal one. You haven't become alergic to it, you've been allergic to that metal but when the watch was new the metal was covered in something else (paint or another metal) as you wore it the coating wore off exposing the metal underneith. In the future avoid this type of metal, or watches made with metals which you don't know.

sounds like the watch back may contain nickel and thats is maybe what you're allergic to. try clear nail varnish on the back of the watch.. or maybe a fabric plaster on the back of watch and your skin is reacting when it sweats underneath the watch back and thats whats causing the problem.. the fabric plaster will soak it up.. just remember to change it regularly or you'll have a funny smell... lol
alternatively you could try a local jewellers they sometimes hold excess stock of fabric straps that fit over the back of the watch but look nice rather than tacky and all for around £3.99 - £10.

Coat the back of the metal with clear nail varnish, or cut a plaster to the size and stick it over the metal. These solutions do work.

i think this could be down to the nikel in the metal. quite a few people are allergic to this also if you wear a belt the buckle may irratate you! you could buy an all in one strap but you could also put a plaster under your watch this will stop direct contact and may help!

My daughter has the same problem. she is highly allergic to nickel (jean buttons, earrings, watches, etc.) You should try to find a watch that is either sterling silver or brass with a plating. Also, look for cuff wrist band type watches.

I don't know your budget, but look at Michelle watches (for the cuff type of band)

Eew! That's not much fun!

A lot of jewelry stores or even novelty stores carry leather watch straps. Or you could try painting the bottom of your watch with nail polish.

Good luck!
