Annoying people. You said it! the best way in my personal experience is gauge the level of annoyance the person causes and deal with them with the same level of severity as they are annoying.. for the not so bad types, be nice, but not that nice that it's taken that you like the persons company... The trick here is to make it clear to them that their company is not wanted in the nicest way their being around you affects you

Avoid them. If you can't, tolerate them as best you can. If they're really annoying, tell them outright. In life, you're bound to hurt some feelings. That's just life. It's unavoidable sometimes.

Just break it to them easy. If there is someone that is tring to get with you just tell them that they are really nice but that you are not interested. No need to lie to them about having a bf/gf just break it to them like it is. Whatever you do don;t be a jerk about it and just let that person know upfront what it is.

why do you care?
you can pussyfoot around for years or you can take care of you and eliminate annoying people if you dont "need" them like your employer or your close family.
