Yes you can. But it depends on how mild or severe your astigmatism is. Contacts do reshape your eye a bit.
Most have to wear either gas permeable or hard lenses like my husband as he has severe astigmatism
I have soft lenses but my astigmatism is only slight and the sharpness is still ok as most cant wear soft lenses due to losing the sharpness in their vision.

Yes you can, these are called Toric contact lenses, they are more expensive but I wear them and I have a astigmatism, all that means is you have a irregular eye there is a part of the lens of your eye that is thicker than the rest, and it distorts angle and views or makes them blurry, Toric contact lenses are about twice as high as regular ones, I know I am a contact wearer with that problem

Yes! My son has astigmatism, and he has worn contact lenses since he was about 10; he's 26 now, and hoping he can have lasix surgery (or whatever the name of it is this week), but until then, contacts are certainly a good option for him.

yes you can although with astigmatism it is a progressive problem so you would have to get new contacts as it gets worse same situation with glasses the only thing you can get done is laser surgery as far as the optometrist told me currently on my 3rd set of lenses anyway hope that helps

Sure, but not the normal ones, which wouldn't correct the astigmatism.

Special contacts that are weighted so that they're always oriented correctly are used for correcting conditions that are not radially symmetric on the eye:
