It is faith without works is dead being alone. It takes faith in God that he is our heavenly Father to whom all blessings flow, faith in Jesus, that he is the only begotten son of God,our Savior,Lord of heaven and earth, faith that he sent the comforter, the Holy Spirit to lead and guide us in the truth, faith in ourselves that we are the children of God.
It takes works that we are not afraid to let our light shine before man.Doing what the Lord would have us do.

That's one of the main things that I have a difference with the typical Christian and myself. James in his epistle said that faith without works is dead. I even understand that the renditions of the Epistle of James is supposed to be a gem when it comes to properly written New Testament Greek.
But, James didn't understand the Greek word for 'faith'. It cannot be faith without the action implied or more accurately, the direction implied. You can either faith in a thological direction, or away from a theological direction, towards something to do with God; pisteo, or away; apisteo.
But then, James was a Legalist. That is made obvious in Acts 15 and in Acts 21, to name just a couple of places. James thought that the Law was to be upheld along with being a believer. He was the Lord's half-brother, and was looked upon to guide the Jerusalem Christians into the Christian faith. This brought need to the Jerusalem Christians, for they were 'the poor' or Ebionites, and he had a few run in's with Paul, whose message of Grace through faith in Jesus showed differences with those who were the 'Judaizers' who tried to get Gentile churches to comply with the law. One of the best ways to understand this is in Paul's letter to the Galatians. I recommend that for you to read.

The story is told of the child who kept asking her dad to put together a doll house that was still in the box. The dad was tired and reading the paper in his lounge chair and didn't pay much attention. But the child persisted and finally the dad said okay I will put it together in a minute. The dad immediately put it out of his mind. But after an hour or so began to be aware of the constant activity of the child and stopped to really pay attention. He noticed dolls all lined up with little clothes and the box with the dollhouse in it had been dragged into the room and there were scissors and screwdrivers next to it. When the dad asked the child what she was doing, the child said, "you said you were going to put the doll house together, so I'm getting everything ready that you need." The dad couldn't bring himself to disappoint his expecting, believing, active child so he got up and put the dollhouse together. That is how our Faith "works" - we do what we can do and "prepare" for God to do what only He can do.

If you have "true" faith, then when you work toward God you will be able to see change in yourself and others lives you've touched. The Bible says that one must have faith to enter the kingdom of heaven, but it also explains that a true believer will work toward being less of a sinner. If you are not trying to be the best Christian you can, noting of course you will sometimes fail, you may want to reconsider your commitment to God. Change the sin in your life and try to be a better Christian.

It means that works are a part of our faith -- they are not separable from it.
It's the same as saying "a car without an engine is dead."
The car and the engine can conceivably be separated from each other -- but they each would be useless if they were separated.
In the same vein, faith and works can be separated -- but if they were, they would each be empty.

I have a great faith in God. I've had this faith all my life. It is difficult to not have works when you possess faith.
A cheerful good morning to someone strange to you is a work. A smile might make someones day. there are many works to be done and God is leading us all who love in the paths to perform them><>

Anyone can say I believe. But who would you believe, the one doing the work or the one watching TV with a donut in his mouth.

We need to be wise. We need to do our best and wait for God to do the rest. After doing our best, we need to have faith and wait on God. But not doing anything and waiting on God to do everything is foolishness.

if you are hungry and pray for help, god isn't likely to send a hot dog cart to your bedroom, but if you go to look for a job, he might send you to the right door to get a job so you can feed yourself
God wont do for you, what you arent willing to do for yourself
