My seven year old daughter has multiple disabilities, including arthritis. Several therapists have said that swimming would be ideal to improve joint mobility and help with some other problems she is having. A friend said that she had heard before of someone getting assistance with this sort of thing. We live in Texas and my daughter has Medicaid. Any help will be greatly appreciated.

I have a severely disabled daughter myself and this has come up in my support groups. I know that Make A Wish will grant certain high cost items. They have exclusions but seems like I've heard of hot tubs being given so sure they would do a pool...probably above ground.

There are some yoga tapes for young children by Wai Lana that I would highly recommend - they have lots of singing to catchy songs, the poses are named after animals, kids seems to love them, and that would help her in a lot of ways - physically and emotionally.
