I made out with this guy a little over a week ago and just found out today that he had mono a week or two before that. Is it possible for me to get mono and how likely is it that I will get it?

Well, I hate to be the bearer of bad news- but the answer to your question is yes. Yes you can catch mono from the guy, and it will be between 4-6 weeks before you will know the answer. People with active mono are contagious for several weeks after the initial symptoms show up, even after they no longer really feel that ill. It is primarily spread through saliva, and you know where that puts you on the risk scale. On the other hand, you may have already had mono and not even realize it. In a lot of people it simply causes a sore throat, and some folks just feel out of sorts for a few days. It can be a really mild infection, that you don't really pay it much mind. In that case, you will not get it again because you will already be immune. But it's going to take almost 6 weeks before you will know for certain. At this point, there's nothing you can do about it. You will either get it or not. Fortunately, mono is not that bad- you can always catch things much worse.

His mono is now healed. You'll probably wont get it, but there is a possibility. Mono (Mononucleosis) is a virus, usually found in saliva. Sad to say, it can be passed on by kissing. But not as easily as the common cold. Coughing can too...but rarely. You can develop mono symptoms if your body's immune system is down (as in after a cold or any other illness or immuno compromised state). No cure yet but it heals on it's own in a couple of days. If you have it, rest and a lot of fluids will help.

Very likely, kissing is one of the prime ways to get it.
If you do I hope you are less tired than I was when I had it! Won't kill you, but it will make you feel like crap for a very long time.
