erin c,
I say that every time I visit here. If it weren't for people like you I would leave as well. Can't seem to break away. By just responding to you, there might be someone who reads and by the Grace of God we touch them and they repent and become one of us in Christ Jesus the Lord.
Just a little longer and we will be home. This is nothing like what is headed our way. You know this to be true. Remember always the words that Jesus use just before He ascended into the Heavens.
I will always be with you even till the end of this world age.
You can always e-mail me when this gets a bit much for you. I too, can do the same.
Hope I have lifted you up a bit. You are doing the right thing. We are to ignore them and by our example will they return to the truth.><>

that's an thrilling question. I basically at present became an atheist while i began out to truly study into the history of my church and located that (marvel marvel) the genuine history became very distinctive than i became taught in my church. I had constantly had it in my ideas that if my faith became no longer genuine, then the different ones are no longer genuine. Why? by way of fact their claims to expertise approximately god are basically as valid/invalid by way of fact the religion i became in. whether that's a claimed imaginative and prescient or despite, there is yet another individual obtainable making an analogous claims, so the two all of those human beings have an the two valid view of what the Gods are like or none of them have a leg to stand on. the two way, i'm ok no longer training any faith. I constantly theory that i might basically evaluate myself agnostic if I left, by way of fact i presumed being an atheist meant that i became specific there became no God, besides the incontrovertible fact that it basically skill that i don't have self assurance in one. unquestionably, I wish I had figured it out at 13, basically like those different men.

I can understand how you feel. It seems that Christians are being called stupid and ignorant all of the time here. Although in all honesty many Christians see fit to talk about how deluded and lost and headed straight to hell everyone who isn't Christian is, so it goes both ways.
If you are really distressed about all of the "attacks" why not find a message board that is devoted to Christianity and is also monitored. There are many out there and since they are heavily monitored rude and belligerent posts aren't allowed. You could try beliefnet.com although it can get quite nasty there if people want to debate there are special forums for it.
And by the way there isn't anything that says that you must pay attention to every post that's made here. If you don't like the conversation, just don't join it. If someone is rude or dismissive of something that you post, give it the attention it deserves or just give it no attention at all. But as many have said here, everyone has the right to post here in any thread that they like.

You are aware that the site is called yahoo answers...right?
It's a public forum, where ANYONE, regardless of faith or inclination is invited to respond to questions that people ask. Furthermore, the section that you've posted this in is called RELIGION & SPIRITUALITY, not The Christian Feel Good Section.
Being an atheist doesn't mean that one doesn't have questions/concerns about religion and faith. Now, add to that the fact that there are some atheistic religions and philosophies (Buddhism and Satanism spring readily to mind) that have a spiritual aspect to them.
Like any other forum online, there are going to be some trolls...and remember, this bridge has them on both sides. For every atheist saying "it's a fairy tale", there are those of faith who tell atheists "you're going to hell". A christian claims to be saving souls, while atheists are trying to free minds.
Beliefs, regardless of what they are, should be able to stand up to questioning, and be strengthened by it. If your faith is so easily offended, this may not be the right place for you to spend your time.

This section is titled "Religion and Spirituality" NOT "Religious and Spiritual'. A person of ANY belief can discuss the SUBJECTS of Religion and Spirituality. Besides, atheists are some of the MOST spiritual people on the planet.
Yahoo isn't forcing you to be here, or stopping you from hating people your God wants you to hate. You are free to ignore questions and answers that you can't handle.
It would be GREAT if you would just ignore atheists. We'd LOVE to be free of your unwanted and unnecessary preaching and proselytizing. We have good reasons for not worshiping a sadistic killer God, and it would be great not to have to hear about how 'loving' all that evil God stuff is ad nauseam. Of course, you are free to remain a nuisance - it strengthens our belief in atheism, and that is a very GOOD and peaceful thing!

Atheists have just as much right to discuss their belief in what religion is as you do. The attitude you have shows a lack of tolerance for your fellow human being.
Yahoo did not set this up as a christian only site and if that offends some then they do have the choice not to use it.

Well you just showed how un American you are. Freedom of religion or better yet freedom from religious persecution is one of the main reason this country was formed.
Lately the religious people aka Christians have forgotten that fact. They have also the statement "Under God" was not part of the original Pledge of Allegiance.
So I my be blasphemous in your mind and other hypocritical "Christians". At least I am a TRUE AMERICAN and believe in what the founding fathers had in mind for this great nation.
Besides, I would like to see one piece of physical evidence that proves what the bible claims.

Before you give in let me share something with you that I learned a long time ago.
You probably have a light on in your home right now right?
Well it takes the positive and the negative wire for the light to come on right? How does the glory of God shine in this world if it isn't by the positive and the negative.
We are a candle lit on a table so all can see in the room.Jesus parable, remember.
I tell you I thought the same thing but realized that would be blowing my own light out.
Yes there are some I ignore on here but if one person is helped with the truth then all of it is worth it to me.Jesus also said freely you have received freely give.

Well does that mean you are going to ignore Heathens, Pagans, Buddhists, Muslims, Jews and any other group of folks you happen to disagree with too? You do realize I hope, that not all of us Non-Christians are Atheists.
And even if you were to ignore Atheists, they will not go away. The Atheists have just as much right to be here as you do. I fail to see what you think you are going to accomplish with this public declaration. If you want to not be bothered with "blasphemy" might I suggest going to an all Christian forum where you can ask bible questions to your heart's content without being fettered by us "non-believers".

Excuse me, but doesn't it say "Religion and Spirituality" rather than "Religion and Christianity". If you want to discuss your religion and ONLY your religion, then please go elsewhere.....maybe a christian chat. They have a christian chatroom on yahoo, did you know that?
And besides, whether you believe in something or not, this section of Answers was intended for people to come here and learn about different religions or to have heated debates. Granted there are disrespectful morons but you'll get those in every group....its not always atheists. So, if you don't want to be stereotyped and grouped into something that you're not, then please do not do it to others.
By the way.....and who's to say that atheists aren't spiritual? Many atheists have different beliefs.
Atheism defined: A - without..............theist - God "without God"
They are not without belief structures, moral codes, and spiritual beliefs.

We are trying to give you real answers to real questions. Here's the thing - I don't believe anyone has a birth right of any kind. I believe a human is a human. I don't think any one has the right to walk around saying how proud he is to be Irish, black, tall, beautiful, whatever, whatever you were born with has nothing to do with you yourself. If you were born black, that's all there is to it. There is nothing to be proud of to walk around and say 'I'm proud to be an American' if you were born an American. But you can be proud to be an American if you immigrated here to be one because of what we stand for. And you can be proud of what Americans do and stand for. You can be proud of the choices America makes. And we will defend it to the death.
Now if you walk around saying , 'I'm a christian.' - That's great. You can be proud to be a christian. But you made the choice to be a christian, unless you are one only because your parents are - which would be a pretty weak reason. And to be proud to be a christian means you will have to defend being a christian. You say it's a distraction from the truth - well then, prove it's the truth. Just give me one tiny little shred of evidence it's the truth and I will 'sign up' to be a christian right now. We want 'real evidence'. Don't say, 'Well just look at universe and how complex it is, so there has to be a god who created it.' What kind of proof is that? Seriously? Why do you think you are 'attacked'? You better get a thicker skin. You are just running away crying, 'They're mean - they're blasphemous. Waaaa.' Because you are trying to spread faith as a truth. Faith is just another word for 'Hope'. The most you can do is 'hope' your fairy tail is truth. I can 'hope' all day long for there to be a Santa Clause but it ain't gonna happen. I know it and you know it - and somewhere down deep you have to be wondering about faith. Is it really true? You 'HOPE' it is true. Maybe atheists are trying to save you from wasting your time. I know it's none of our business, but that's really how concerned we are about our fellow human beings.
Believer to non-believer; You remind me of a blind man in a dark room looking for a black cat.
Non-believer to believer; Well, you remind me of a blind man in a dark room looking for a black cat that isn't there.
