Only after we find out how to regenerate spinal nerve impulses in patient's who have suffered severe spinal cord injuries and/or paralysis. To transplant a brain we would have to know how to remove the brain and spinal cord and then to replace them in the new host's vertebral spinal column AND re-establishing nerve connections for each spinal nerve. There are 31 spinal nerves to reconnect all along the spinal column. Each of these has spinal nerve fibers which would have to re-establish synapsal connections with the varying dermatomes which are found in various sections of the body.
The interesting question would be what identity would the new host take on? That of the host or the donor? I would assume that the thought processes would be that of the donor but the anatomy, and therefore the recognizable facial features, would be that of the recipient.
Makes me want to go watch Face Off with Nick Cage and John Travolta... Ha Ha
The only way that would allow immortality is iff we have found the cure for all known diseases including cancer, AIDS, and drug addiction as well as producing a driving system which 1. has a 100% success rate and 2. drives the car systematically via all major roadways and parking lots so that no one could be killed in a major car accident. Then you would have to heavily sedate or incarcerate all individuals that have or would in the future have suicidal/homicidal thoughts. This could be done via utilization of a method similar to that in the movie "Minority Report" in which the police controlled murder by using "psychics" to predict who would have homicidal thoughts and block their actions before allowing any harm to come to any other person. Then no one should die and we would all be immortal.
But, considering the huge backlash on Tom Cruise right now I doubt this would ever come to fruition. SO blame mortality on Tom Cruise. He's the reason we all will die some day. Ha Ha

Brain transplant is possible ,but when you brain function ceases you are technically and literally dead,so the transplant would have to take place after you were dead and would serve no purpose.

if we do it won't make anymore immortal because it takes more than a brain to live. It won't keep you alive any longer. your organs would naturally start to fail
