hard to say without more info ...
many time when you have bipolar and arent properly medicated, your mood swings will make you fail - whether its because of an outburst at work, at a friend, at school... it will also cause you to act in a rash manner....
my opinion - if you are bipolar and choose not to take medication to get better - its an excuse
if you are trying to get better by finding a medication regimine that works for you - its because of your bipolar, but once you find what works for you, it will cause you to have less failures

Repeated failures--tell us more. Mental health is a serious thing. It takes a really good psychiatrist to diagnosis Bipolar with a certainty that the person is actually bipolar. After diagnosis, it will take you some time, by trial and error, to find the right medicine to be on.Your saying Bipolar is cause for repeated failures might be true, or might not.

Failures how? More details needed.
How can people just blurt out "excuse" without knowing any details? Mental health is hard to understand; if someone is bipolar then they need counseling and meds. You need more info before you judge, people.
