I need your expertise.

Computer: Intel (R) Pentium (R) M processor 1.50GHz 599MHz, and 768 MB of RAM.

Norton Antivirus 2006

Here's the problem. Every time I am in IE v6 and I click on an item too quickly, it seems like it is too much for the PC and it just crashes.

I then click on "Ctrl-Alt-Del", and the windows task manager pops up. Then, I have to click on "End Task" on the non-responsive IE.

How can I remedy this?

Please help!

PS. I have upgraded to IE v7 and had the same issues. I reverted back to IE v6.

Thanks!

Thank you all for your answers thus far. I do have Firefox, but it too gives me problems but on another level. For example, it won't allow me to open "my homework.doc". Because of the space between my and homework, firefox will only read "my" and drop homework and more importantly, the extension .doc. It's retarded! And yes, I do have Microsoft Word which opens .doc files.

You may want to consider backing up your documents and other personal things to CD's or other external storage. Then either do a system restore using the CD provided by your manufacturer or a reinstall windows using your OEM CD. Afterwards your system will likely run like new. You will have to reinstall all of your applications and move you data back from whatever you backed it up to.

I doubt that you're problems are hardware related. Meaning nothing is broken in your laptop. It's just software issues. A system restore or a reinstall will clean this problem up. If you feel uncomforatble doing this your self call a few local computer shops I'm sure they do it regually. Get a few quotes and maybe a reference or two. You're trusting them like you do someone who fixes your car and they can rip you off if you're not careful.

I say get firefox, and think about a differnt antivirus program. I use to have nortons and hated how it slowed my machine down. Mcaffee done better, but avg seems to almost have no affect at all. You can get a free version, but I suggest paying for the upgrade. I recommend getting spybot search and destroy, and adware se also. they are both free, and will fix the problem if malware is the cause.

the hardship with Tech persons is they communicate one greater language than daily computer purchasers, in spite of the undeniable fact that then if human beings are clever sufficient to function their computer, then they must be knowledgeable some uncomplicated computer terminology. particular, I do think, pity for some Tech persons, as nicely people who come type India. those persons accessory is so thick that what ever policies they supply you is unusual. I had experience with an Indian help guy or woman, wherein he saved asking me to, format my "Dick" force. I knew what he meant...... format "D" force, in spite of the undeniable fact that i could no longer help guffawing in front of him on the telephone. He saved asking me, "Is there something fallacious, sir"
