Because some find it easier to get away with foolishness and crime if they believe that there is no punishment or repurcussions afterwards. Others simply choose atheism because they can't touch or see God and they think "why do bad things always happen to me?" and then blame God and then eventually lose faith entirely.

People live lives without God because:
A. they have never heard the Good News of Jesus Christ.
OR
B. they have heard the Good News and have rejected it. They reject it out of complacency with their lives, laziness to put effort into making a decision about what they believe, fear of what friends and family will say, too busy to think about something they find irrelevant etc. The rejection can be either passive or active.

I don't think people have forgotten God. I love and praise him. I don't want to call anyone out or piss folks off, but certain groups feel it necessary to speak against him. They don't want prayer in school because it imposes feelings some people want no part of.
It's a no win situation for some. If you believe, that's all that matters. Whatever else someone believes, that's all that matters to them. I just hope everyone is at peace.

i think it's becasue the world has become so sinful. and God does not force people to follow Him and obey His ways.so becasue the world does not see that impact of the 'God of the Old Testament'(i.e the One who would send cast you down with fire when you sinned against him).....they're begining to belive that He doesn't exist or that that He doesn't care what is going on around the wolrd

I disagree with your words "most everyone".
People can't understand about God, so they use that as an excuse to do as they please.
I love God with all my heart, mind and soul.
Ignorance will keep a lot of people from going to Heaven when they die.
