Staph bacteria are part of the normal bacterial flora of all human beings. The clogged hair follicle probably is infected due to the staph on your skin. I don't know what would be causing the arm sensations. If you had a systemic staph infection, you would be one sick individual and not typing here on Answers, so I don't think you have to worry about that much. Apply heat to the lump on the head, and leave it be to drain on it's own. If it really gets painful, seek a doctors attention and don't try to pop it on your own. If it is an infected follicle, and you try to force the issue, you can rupture it under the skin surface and really make a mess of things. With heat it should drain on it's own in a few days. No need for fancy potions, just apply heat with a warm washrag - hot as you can stand as often as you can. Otherwise, leave it in peace. It will hurt more as it gets closer to drain time, and the pain will all go away as soon as it starts to drain. Meantime, heat it up and keep your hands off it. If you develop a rash or fever, then of course you will need professional attention.

I'm a bit confused how the elbow and the head could be related, but the previous person covered the head pretty well... sounds like a boil, which technically is caused by a staph infection in the skin and the person gave great directions for it... the elbow though- is there any redness or streaking? is it possible that you had pulled a muscle? I dont think they are related, but again, I am not a doctor

What kind of bacteria or virus may cause this we can not say something because your blood need to be tested for saying something but there must be an inflammation in your skin tissue.
