Inflammation is just swelling. It depends on how invasive the operation was. If you had a splinter removed, the swelling goes away in a few minutes. If you have a facelift, the swelling takes months to completely go away.

Post operative inflammation means inflammation which occurs after a surgery . Because doctor scars the tissue so scar may get an infection or super-infection so this may lead an inflamation of operated area.How long? It depends on your immune system it can disseapear in a few weeks or lasts for months . If you have a strong immune system do not be afraid but if you are weak you should go to doctor and ask about inflammation .He may give you antibiotics if necessary.
