It seems to be that DSOTM is certainly the most popular album, especially to the casual fan. The Folyd are my quite possibly my favorite band, and I own all their albums (both on CD and vinyl) videos and maybe about 100 live shows (from all the different eras) and i would say that their best album is Animals (aka: the 'forgotten' album). In a period where Roger Waters was gradually taking over, this was recorded a bit befre he practically completely took over before the Wall. As I think that Roger was the conceptual genious behind the Floyd while Gilly was the musical genious, I feel that this recording was the apex of this development, soon after to fall down to esentially a couple Waters solo albums, then the breakup.
Roger's lyrics, I think are second only to the Wall, Gilly's guitar solos and phrases are simply perfect, his TalkBox on Pigs(Three Different Ones). The sound is amazing. Waters' best signing in my opinion. His notes in Sheep seamlessly transform into Wright's synthesizer, the double-track vocals on the last half od Dog's.
I get goose bumps after the first Pigs on the Wing when that amazing chord progression fades in and when Nick pops at the top of those measures and finally explodes before the full groove is on. Might be the most excitng two minutes in Rock music for me.

I like Animals as well, but Dark Side of the Moon has to be the greatest, after remaining on the Billboard Top 200 for over 17 years the stuff on that CD still never get old. I've heard each song on DSOTM at least 35-40 times

Not sure why this is religion (do you worship Syd?), but I like Meddle and Atom Heart Mother.
I think the greatest, though, is Dark Side of the Moon. I have heard every single song on that played at least ten times on the radio.
