They have already come out against 60 minutes for taking their comments out of context. It is sad what some media sources will go through to push their agenda on the masses. It is even sadder when the masses fall for it.

I saw them on CNN. Most anyone who has experienced years in the military should really understand what they are saying. We are constantly in defensive positions because one of the problems is how do you identify the enemy until they blow themselves up in a marketplace or a police station? Who do we take offensive positions against? It's not like they wear uniforms like in previous wars. The US is in the middle of a sectarian civil war, and nothing we can do to try to stop it will work. Who do we fight other than al-Sadr? The soldiers are only being honest as to the prospects for a "victory". It's no longer our war to lose anyway. It's Iraq's. They have to decide--all sides must decide--that they have had too much dying and destruction and then they will lay down their arms. Whether we stay or leave won't make a difference. That's what the soldiers were expressing. I don't think it's treasonous. Only bluntly honest. Another problem some were saying is that they have been inadequately armed from the start.

Hundreds of thousands of people are in the US military and only now has the press finally goten a small number to make anti war statements after (some members of the media) have been desperately looking for examples since the war began.

One would have to question if ALL the hundreds of thousands in the US army could agree on ANYTHING.

Regardless of the merits of their statements, agree or disagree with them, they are little more than a publicity stunt by the anti-war movement.

Public comment on military strategy by enlisted individuals used to be forbidden by nearly all armies. Allowing them to be made is a good example of defeat from within.

I think they are brave and honorable. Here at my base most of the troops are against the war. All of us know the USA will not prevail. Shame is coming soon.
