I met this guy in college. We are not dating, we've just always been really good friends. We are both friends with this other girl, and I think she thinks he'd be potetial dating materiaI. I love him to death, but man oh man is he SLOPPY. He weighs about 270 and is about 5'7 in height. He has long, greasy shoulder-length hair that I have never seen combed, wears huge baggy clothes & tye dye t-shirts. His pants are always falling almost all the way down, and his huge belly always hangs out. His teeth are broken and yellow due to smoking. However, he actually has a sorta cute face, a great personality and a GREAT sense of humor. He's one of the funniest people I've ever met. Anyway, this other girl (our friend), acts as if she would date him, but I am almost certain that the hygiene factor is throwing her off. I really wish I could get them both together, because I think it would work and they look so cute together. How do I clean this guy up? Where do I even start? Any suggestions??

Talk to him alone. Tell him you love him to death and the reason you are talking to him private is because you think someone likes him but your sloppyness is trowing them off. Let me help you, let me guide you because I know what she likes and maybe you can get to know her better when she is more comfortable. Ask him to trust you and let you help him get a g/f, does he want one? if yes then he should submitt to your interogation, but be gentle and say maybe if you did this or maybe??? get him to give you a hint or get interested it will be fun and you will be helping each other. Either or tell him you love him as a friend and you just want him to be respected and you think that will happen if he trusts you and just tries a bit.... Take care Heather

Tell him how you think this or that would look terrific on him and she how he reacts? For the hair do the same thing regarding style and cut, maybe he doesn't care or has a low self esteem problem. He may be depressed and don't care about his appearance some guys are like this for lots of reasons. Try talking to him about it in a sutle way so he doesn't think you are putting him down. Start with the good qualities you see about him and work from there.

His teeth are broken from smoking? what is it that he smokes, crack? I have an idea.
Step 1: Buy Nicorette gum, toothpaste, a tooth brush, an outfit (if you can afford it), and maybe find a coupon for a local hair salon.
Step 2: Leave them somewhere in his house.
Step 3: Deny everything!
It's not quite subtle, but he won't know who did it. Maybe he'll take the hint.

Stubborn Guy's Opinion (Me.) - You can't, the ONLY way is to make it seem like it was his idea.
Whenever my girlfriend tries to get me to wear junk or change the way I look, I'm usually a poor sport about it, or I get in a mind-set where I think she's trying to control what I wear/how i look, like I'm living with my mother again.
don't imply that he smells or looks like a slob, cuz the instant you suggest something to change about himself, his guard will go up and his attitude will be on locked down (if he's stubborn like most of us are.) and he'll be thinking "if she doesn't like me the way I am, then she can find someone else.
I could be wrong, and you could just find out if he's interested in someone (tactfully.) and if he thinks he can't get any girl because of whatever, that could be your time to step in.

his ur friend so u right that its up 2u. ask him if he likes this girl first, then proceed. If yes, ask him if he would be willing to make a few changes to get her. be gentle, be jokey, be urself as a friend. don't hint hint though(my guy friends say they just don't get that). ask these questions in a straight forward manner.

if hes that bad now, what makes you think you can change him. in any event, if your that set on it, just go to your friend and tell him
so and so is interest in you but you need to clean your self up. let me help.
then go shopping.

Why would you want to change him? Change her maybe?
He is who he is, if he wanted to clean up, then he would. He doesn't and if she can't love him this way, then she isn't the one for him.
