Security personnel are rude all across the country. Sometimes they're jaded from the people who are idiots, and they're rude to everyone because of it. Sometimes they just like to take what little power they have and boss people around because it makes them feel big. Sometimes, they're just busy dealing with so many people, they just don't take the time to be polite.
Then again, they may have just been in a bad mood that day, and took it out on you. It sucks when that happens.

Being Yankees HAS NOTHING to do with being polite. This really has very little to do with 9/11/01 and in many cases..... I stress NOT ALL OF THEM... there is a bit of an ego trip associated with position of authority. It always sucks when one group of people give a bad light to the rest by their actions!!

9/11 dont have anything to do with why new yorkers are rude. they just are. they are self absorbed, self consumed, self rightous and the rudest people in the world second only to the taliban.
