I have a public folder [shared with different users] but I need to archive such public folder. When I try the normal archive procedure in my Microsoft Outlook I am always given the error "The Selected Folder cannot be archived". Is there a reason why we cannot archive such folder. I need these emails to be archived since its taking a lot of space on my server.

More than likely they're in use; another connection makes it impossible to backup the files. Disconnect all users to the files, restart the program and try it again.

It's a Shared Folder, Cannot be Archived, due to different points of entry from different pc's... Maybe you can compress it, that would do the same as archiving but leaves it accessible for the others to use. Good Luck
