I have seen some fundies claim that Science is a religion.. So if you take that to heart, any science textbook would be a religious book without ambiguity and vagueness.

All religous texts are deliberately written with ambiguity and vagueness so that only the true believer and one who understands the fundemental beliefs of the religion will be able to enjoy the cream of knowledge hidden in the words of the ancient texts.
Even the Holy Quran is written in such a manner. If you say it is not and if you say you fully understand it, you have not been privileged to enjoy the cream of knowledge hidden in the Holy Quran.

The most ambiguous and vague, to me, is Oahspe. It was published as a religious revelation in 1882. This revelation came to a Massachusetts dentist named John Ballou Newbrough.

The Bible ! Ambiguity and vagueness?? No way! Not if you're a born-again believer. Many have a hard time with the Bible simply because they have a negative view of it before they ever start. In order to fully understand it and appreciate it for what it is, we need the help of the Holy Spirit, which comes with the born-again expereience. ( See John 3:1-12 ).
I might add that the Bible cannot be fully understood because we are mortal beings, with a sin nature, in a body of death from the start. Furthermore, even in Heaven the Bible will continue to reveal the person of God forever... I know, hard to fathom, isn't it? But what is the Bible all about anyway? Its God's revelation of Himself to His creation. This will take forever. We can only hope to scratch the surface in this life.
Suggestion: Get God involved in your life in a meaningful way. How? Ask! That's all! Prayerfully ask, and mean it. Trust Him. Then pick up a Bible, and watch God reveal Himself to you.
Hey! How about this little prayer?
Heavenly Father, thank you for Jesus.
Lord Jesus, come into my life; really get involved.
Forgive my sins; I'm sorry for them.
Make me the person you created me to be.
Fill me with your Holy Spirit.
Reveal yourself to me; help me to get to know you in a personal way.

The Bible. Not to be a wise guy , but Fox News wasn't there to cover it.
There were no cameras, cellphones, etc, PC's, and a lot of people around then, couldn't read or write. A lot is stories handed down from one generation to another.
