I am only 22 and these stretch marks really make my body look ugly. They are only on the hips (closer to bum) and I do not know what kind of treatment I should use to get rid of them or make them smaller. Any suggestions? I am 5'4 and weight 100pounds if that helps.

If you’re more concerned with getting rid of stretch marks than preventing them, read on. There are many methods to choose from, ranging from home remedies for stretch marks, to medical and cosmetic procedures. You will notice that every single one of these remedies also helps promote the overall health of your skin – the healthier your skin is, the better it can heal itself. Always consult your doctor before undergoing any treatment, especially if you are pregnant or nursing.

Home remedies to remove stretch marks
Time – Stretch marks, like all types of scarring fade over time.
Retin-A (Tretinoin) – 0.1% Tretinoin creams have been shown to significantly reduce the appearance of stretch marks in a study published in the May 1996 Archives of Dermatology. See your doctor for a prescription. These creams work best when used on fresh stretch marks. WARNING: Do not use tretinoin treatments if you are pregnant of breast feeding as the active ingredient may be passed to the unborn child or the breast milk.
Exfoliate daily – use a loofah or scrunchy to remove daily.
Stretch Mark Creams and Lotions – Using creams and lotions that heal and beautify your skin can reduce the appearance of stretch marks. The following ingredients are widely accepted as beneficial for this purpose:
Cocoa butter
Rose hip oil
Emu oil
Jojoba oil
Castor oil
Shea butter
Vitamin A, E & C
Vic’s Vapor Rub – Many people have reported success using Vic’s Vapor rub by applying it to a washcloth or paper towel and rubbing it forcefully into the scarred skin on a nightly basis for a few weeks.
Increase Circulation – by taking hot baths and massaging the areas regularly.
Tanning – Go sunbathing! Tanning can diminish and even eliminate minor stretch marks. Be sure to use sun screen.
Vitamin E Gel – Break open vitamin E capsules and rub the oil into the skin over the stretch marks daily for 2 weeks.
unstretch the skin – After the skin returns to its normal, unstretched size, stretch marks often become nearly invisible.

Endermologie – Endermologie machines massage and work the skin in order to increase circulation and expel toxins.
Laser Therapy – There are several different types of laser treatments available that can help reduce the appearance of stretch marks and heal you skin. See your dermatologist for the latest information on these methods.

Get rid of Stretch Marks?

If you are willing to spend the money you could try a product called Strivectin. It costs around US $135 (regular price), but has been known to work or greatly improve their appearance for many. It can be used on newer (purple or reddish)stretchmarks or even old(white)ones. My sister used it after her first baby and although it didn't make them dissapear, she saw a HUGE improvement.
Cocoa butter is really only useful for preventing stretchmarks. It won't get rid of them.
The only other method that would help is laser, but that's expensive.

Buy a 5$ bottle of Vitamin E gel caps, squeeze the stuff out and rub on the marks every day. After a month or so they might calm down.

Unfortunately it is random genetics, doesnt matter what you weigh -or whether mom/dad has em. Those bastards dont ever go away, but they WILL calm down as years go by. Dont let them bother you because you will just feel worse. Just take good care of your skin and smile about your good features.

The only way to get rid of stretch marks is plastic surgery. Anything else is just a fraud and waste of money.

I have stretchmarks from way back when I had an explosive growth phase. I used Palmer's Coca Butter formula Massage Cream for Stretchmarks and it actually works! It was made for pregnant women to reduce stretchmarks on the tummy and such, but it works for anyone. It does take a little to really notice the affects, but you will notice it. =D

Hope that helps!
