i have a friend who is 19 and he still plays with those yugioh card things. is there something wrong with him or is it normal?

I'd say it's neither normal, or anything wrong with him........ just some people never fully grow-up, and stay big kids at heart, but have different ways of doing so (e.g. Food fights when watching football on TV with buddies, throwing fishing bait at each other, playing practical jokes, playing with old toy cars or them highly detailed decorative models ones when no one is looking, read their kid's comics after they've gone to bed if it's one they used to get themselves when they were kids, etc)

I think some people get into collecting other things than others that makes them rare in the future. If he is a collector it is different than just playing. But that said who is he playing with? I never collected stamps I thought it was weird but know I see the benefit in learning and in the investment. I also have a friend that collects toys as an adult he wants to pass them on to his living children and he collects old TV and movie items. I call them toys but it it important to him- I thought he would change he didn't hes married now and the same. You will have to judge your friends motives and reasons, is it a phase? Remember you are judged by your friends and how you act toward them. I kept mine and accept him how he is. Only you will be able if it is something to wrong for you.Who's to say whats normal?

Some people use this kind of thing to keep them feeling normal or young a heart. It could be just a fixation or a love of cards, either way, you should not be judgemental because this is just their way of being normal. Take care Heather

some people grow up, and others just get older. I like Pokemon-not like obsessive with cards or any of that-but I also have a six year old girl-alot of people that stay into those things either didn't have many friends, and that's how they are used to staying busy without thinking about thier issues-or they are just juvenile.

Don't be so mean....Your friend is probably very creative and thus may have a hard time socializing with people in the real life....Look at those vedio game programmers...they play games every single day and they are definitely not in their teens anymore :-P

Although it may not be "normal", there is nothing wrong with them. All people have different things they like to do at different times in their lives. If you do not enjoy doing this, then find other things for yourself to do.

i dont know if it can still be considered normal at the age of 19 (maybe he's got a childish personality) but personally that wouldnt attract me very much. (im 18)

If you are judging him on that, or are just afraid of being considered a bit of a "loser" for dating him b/c he's just having a little bit of fun, then you seriously need to rethink this relationship.
