Jesus tells his disciples in the Bible to, "look around" adding that, "heaven is all around you." I understand this passage to mean that heaven must be very much like earth. This belief is reflected in one of the creeds we say in church which goes something like, "it shall be on earth as it is in heaven."

Imagine. Heaven. Mo worries, no pain, no problems. Sounds no better than non existence. Seriously, if one dies, some Christians say, "Oh, that person is in Heaven now." But, Heaven is supposed to be happiness.Imagine my mother up there, (She died 11 years ago), and if she is looking down on me, she would not be happy, but, sad for me. Therefore, Heaven would not be a happy place.
If she cannot look down one me, imagine her disappointment when I do not go there. Is that a happy place now?
Suppose I became a Christian, gave all to the Lord, and I go to Heaven? And my mother is not there? Would I be happy? Would I forget my mother?
And as for being given jobs to do, well, what if I don't want a job? Suppose Heaven to me is relaxing, no work
Should I be punished by burning in Hell just because I do not want to go to Heaven?
What a sadistic God we have.

I'm getting tired of answering this question - it crops up nearly every day. Heaven is a place of activity, responsibility, challenge (unless you think ruling and reigning as a king or a priest is boring and easy to do), duties, fun, peace, security, teaching (can you teach? there will be those who need to be taught), travel, exploration etc. Does all of that sound boring? What's the alternative? fire, damnation, no God, no fellowship, alone, pain, torment, self, regrets, guilt, tears, unending eternity with no mercy and no relief.......sound like fun?

Getting to see and be in the presence of an infinite God. I think of it this way.
When I was younger, I had the good fortune to go to about 300 home Bulls games during Michael Jordan's reign there.
Night after night, there was something that was so "wow!" that was so unbelievable .... again and again and again. He would never let us down. Now multiply that by 10 bazillion and you start to understand the first few instants in God's presence.
You're really worried that it might be boring?????

Heaven has wars, battle and tears. But there will also come a time in heaven when God will wipe the tears away. Good against evil. Then peace will come.

Who is to say that just because "everything is perfect in Heaven" that you would not be needed?...You will..love is needed everywhere all the time
You know, even in this life time I would love for just one year to not have to struggle from week to week. Total Bliss sounds pretty dang good to me right now

Atheists don't believe in, want, or need a Heaven, so that is a pointless question to be asking us. We make the most of this life, because we plan to be dead when we die, rather than looking to collect rewards or rebates.

Ah, you get your family and friends to hang out with, you get to meet anyone you want (because as long as you've done some good deeds too, you at least get to visit after the bad stuff's paid off, otherwise it's straight back to reincarnation.) You can sit and watch the silly people who haven't attained the enlightenment of heaven down on earth, and if that's not enough fun and excitement, you can always choose to do it all over again......

I see heaven as a place like any other and God has work to do and we'll all be doing it for eternity! God'll see to it you are kept busy!
Maybe he'll make you guard a tree with a flaming sword for a few centuries.
