BEFORE YOU HATE!! i know it is a good idea to get an apprenticeship,i know all about bloodborne pathogens, and sterilization, (i have and have used a autoclave) i have just used homemade equipment, but recently i have purchased a kit from Superior TAttoo Company. And the Major Problem that i am getting is that when i connect the footswitch to the power supply, the clipcord to the power supply and the machine all i get when i push the pedal is one click thats it i know that you have to hold the pedal down for repetition needls strokes, so please help me with this....i would really like to get an apprentice but i can not afford the amount of money that they want. I have done around 25 "homemade tattoos" and thats not workin for me.so i would really appreciate it if i didnt get any smart *** answers all i want to know is how do i get repeated needle strokes without having to push the foot switch everytime i want the needle to go into skin dont worry i have much practice with fakeskinandfruit

This isn't a smart *** answer - it's simply the truth: WE DON'T HELP SCRATCHERS HERE!

We also don't support tattoo supply companies that sell to scratchers - you don't GET TO DO THIS to people to keep the laser removal docs making money. Just because you own an autoclave DOES NOT make you work clean and safe.

All the practice on fake skin and fruit gets you no where if you don't know what you are doing in the first place! It is not about "practice makes perfect" - only PERFECT practice makes perfect.

Give it up until you can get a REAL apprenticeship. Obviously, something is seriously lacking if you cannot work that out.

Edit notes:......and it's NOT a gun, guns kill....it's a tattoo machine.

What gets me is, those that are so worried about us new artists, trying to express our art in another form; yes that does take some new educating to know what you are getting into, but in the same token those that are educators, that should be willing to share knowledge, to prevent stupidity. Knowledge is Power and we pay enough for utilities, lets give something to those that need, knowledge does not make you reach into your pocket!
To the point the question in which brought ME HERE was how do you set a Tattoo machine, a rather simple question which those that have knowledge, either chose to answer good bad or indifferent is just fine. After all it had nothing to do with CROSS CONTAMINATION. I am sure there is someone out there who will agree with me, lets not allow the industry to get a worst rap than it already has.

my machine did this too.what i did was mess with it for a while till it started working.theyre very touchy and if everythings not in just the right place they will not work properly.and i agree with you as far as apprenticeship goes.who has 9 grand to spend on crap like that.and i call it crap cause they arent really teaching you anything.how can one artist really teach 10 people at once.every artist i know said they started out by buying a machine and then just tatted everyone they could.good luck to you and who cares what idiots say.call the company if you cant figure it out.the machine might be defective as well.
