i'm practing with powers and learning about how to channel them. someone at school found out about this and they asked if i am a sender or a reciever. can i be both?

Yes, you can be both.
it depends on if you are casting the spell or someone is casting a spell on you (with your permission of course). Most of the time I am a sender, it is very rare that I need much help with anything, but sometimes another person can be more objective in reaching goals.
Another way of looking at (if not spell related) is are you more adept at projection or reception. Are you strong enough to project your energy or are you more receptive to the powers of the universe? If you are just starting out I would hope you are receptive. In time it will work both ways.

Of course you can be both, but as Gypsy said, most are senders, that is doing spells to help others.
And as the person above me said, the natural law states whatever you send out will come back to you, be is x3, x9, or x100.
I'm sure you also know that we have a projective hand and a receptive hand. The projective hand is usually the hand you write with, and so the other is the receptive. When you send out power, send it out through your projective hand.

Yes, you are both. You can not send without receiving. It is the natural laws of nature. Every action has an opposite and equal reaction.

In Wicca there can be anything, because people make up as they go along and then call it "tradition". Sure, people can claim to be senders, recievers, etc., but actually being able to do it is another thing.
If you can really send and recieve thoughts, why not take Randi's $1,000,000 challenge and make yourself a millionaire?
