RATES
$2.65–– Flag drop (first 1/11 mile or 30 secs. or fraction thereof)
$ .35–– Each additional 1/11 mile or part
$ .35–– Each 30 sec. waiting time and/or traffic delay ($24/hr. wait).
$ 2.50–– Airport-mandated surcharge for taxi trips originating at LAX
$42.00–– Flat rate per trip (group) in either direction for trips between LAX and Downtown (Area bounded by Alameda St., Santa Monica Fwy., Harbor Fwy., and Ceasar Chavez Ave., Plus Union Station, and Chinatown).

If your only using a car to travel to one place and dont really need to go anywere else i agree take a cab but if your interested in going anywere or going sight seeing i suggest renting a car. there not that expensive and you can always talk them down to a lower price. If interested try enterprise very nice service and again you can always talk them down to a lower price

My suggestion would be to use the Metro system, buses and subways which cost only $3.00 for an all day pass!

The amount of time it would take you to get someone to pick you up you could walk it. It you are elderly or disabled call dial a ride.
