The earliest that they can come after you is the day after the filing deadline for the tax year. Usually it will be another year or so for them to track you down -- no biggie for them on that as the penalties and interest will continue to accrue.
If you only owe them $1,114, they won't be looking to give you "three hots and a cot" for that. They'll just lie in waiting until you DO get a job and then garnish your wages. Easy Peasy!

This isn't as big a problem as it looks like. Give them a call on the toll free number (I believe that's 1-800-829-1040). Tell them you've figured your income tax and you will owe them some money. Tell them you haven't got it and they'll send you some forms to fill out--easy to do-- and they'll work with you to get it done.
You will still need to file a tax return by April 17, but you can mail it in, and will only need to send a portion of what's owed, with the request to be allowed to make payments.
Why wait for them to hunt you down and live in fear that every time you leave the house they will be waiting for you??? Living in fear isn't going to do you any good. Just call them up. I know the sum you mention in your question is huge to you, but believe me, they have much bigger fish to fry, so they'll work with you.

they will just garnish your wages once they catch it
there aren't going to really "come after you" literally unless you owe some big money.

You are allowed to file an automatic extension--and file in August. Or you can make payments between now and April 15th or both.
I'd file an extension--simple to do--any HR block guy can do it, or you can call IRS and they'll tell you how. Then between now and Aug 15th, you can save up or make payments and have it paid off by then.
Don't f--- with the IRS, man. good luck..

They'll be sending letters by May. They'll be knocking on your door by next March.
Go to H&R block or some other tax place and fill out an extension. You can send payments monthly.

I have placed this in the source box. There is a wealth of information there and a great free debt management software program. I bookmarked the site as I return to it often for the advice it offers. I hope this helps you.
