Rosacea (acne rosacea) is a chronic inflammatory disorder characterized by facial flushing, telangiectasias, erythema, papules, pustules, and in severe cases, rhinophyma. Diagnosis is based on characteristic appearance. Treatment depends on severity and includes topical metronidazole, topical and oral antibiotics, rarely isotretinoin, and, for severe rhinophyma, surgery.(Merck)
Rosacea is pronounced erythema (reddening of the skin) of the brow, cheeks and nose, resulting from chronic dilatation of subcutaneous capillary vessels.
