No, these 2 meds should not be taken together: There is a moderate reaction.

As per drugs.com:
"Central nervous system- and/or respiratory-depressant effects may be additively or synergistically increased in patients taking multiple drugs that cause these effects, especially in elderly or debilitated patients. "

These 2 meds together can cause severe drowsiness and/or breathing difficulties.

It should be fine.Lexapro is a newer safer drug in its catagory. It is the MIAO classification you need to worry about which lexapro is not.If you want to fell better before taking the two your pharmacist actually knows more about the composition of medecines than your doctor.Call him.Yahoo medecines is also a valuable tool and poison control can look it up for you if you need to know now.

I totally understand your concern, and I'm concerned for you. I would talk with another doctor, and get the opinion of a couple of different pharmacists and see if there's anything you can take besides Lexapro. I've never taken the drug myself, but I've also never heard anything positive about it either. and you're always better safe than sorry.
take care of yourself, and I wish you the best.

Lexapro is not the best anti depressant (to put it lightly), I would definately look into getting something else.

lexapro has bad side effects. if you want medication for deppression, then see a psychiotrist. they are more experienced about what to prescribe you.
