If I say I am going to pray for someone I do it right then. No use waiting.

I do actually pray for people when I feel the need to, I am more of a silent prayer person. What is the point in telling someone you are going to pray for them anyway, it's not like that is going to change them, it is an act of God that will change a persons heart. I think a lot of people just say it out of lack of anything else to say.
Totally agree with answer #2, what is the point in waiting, why say it and walk away. I am also good for just praying for and with people right then and there.

I just prayed for you among other things. I may not specifically think of you the next time I pray but I always try to remember the lost when I pray. I'm sure some that say they will pray for you are just being nice but I'm also sure than some mean what they say.

It depends on the need... some needs are ongoing... others are short term... I do have a list of those I pray for regularly... when I see a request for prayer on YA I will say the prayer before responding to let the requestor know that a prayer has been said for them.

I pray for a crack addict that needs help all the time. I dont pray that he see's the light or anything like that.
I usually just say something like this.....
"Please help him in ways that he can understand, or that he will be able to accept"

I always try and make sure if I tell someone that I will pray for them that I do it. It would be very wrong not to.

As for me, I pray when i wake up and when i go to bed. both times, i pray for those people in which i know need prayers or just want to pray for. now my memory isnt good enough to remember everybody, but i know that god knows who all i would like to pray for. plus, i have a 'prayer bo necklace' with a little box on a chain. i have an itty bitty piece of paper in it that i write names on of people to pray for. this helps if i forget somebody.
hope this helped.

I understand where you are coming from as far as being told someone will pray for you. I think both they say it to be kind, and there are those who say it and mean it
