Take a bath in water as hot as you can stand and put 1 1/2 cups of epsom salts in it.....then let yourself slide down enough to soak your neck in it for about 30 minutes.

If you see your doctor with a crick in the neck, he will give you a muscle relaxant that will help a bit more than anything OTC. But there is no great relief till it goes away in 2-3 days. It is one of the most painful, unpleasant things.

Take some tylenol or ibuprofen. Use moist heat; put some rice in a sock, heat it in the microwave for a minute or so, put it on the area. Buy one of those buckwheat pillows that you can heat; they are fantastic for cricks. :)

Try moist heat - and see your doctor!
All treatment of neck strain injuries [with pain such as you describe]should be guided by your physician.
There are chronic conditions (such as arthritis and osteoporosis) and acute problems (such as fractures) that can cause symptoms similar to a neck strain. If your symptoms worsen instead of improve, or if they are not relieved with rest, you should see a doctor.

Ask people you know if they have a muscle relaxer on hand for tonight. Then tomorrow get a prescription for some of your own.

I'd recommend a chiropractor. For now, try and lay down and take something for the pain until you can see a chiropractor.

Get a massage!!!!!!!!!!! Then a little crack of the neck and you'll be fine. I feel for you. Do you get that bad burning feeling, that's the worst.
