My bf left our apt early this morning, he said he was going "for a ride". When he got back I told him to tell me where he went. He said that he looked through a few stores for the ring and that he'd like it if I went w/him. We went to 3-4 more stores, but every time I'd bend over to look in the case... he'd walk away w/out helping. Why?
After this happened about 2 times, I called him out. He didn't really have a good reason.
Although, later in the day he kept talking about "how excited he was for me".
It was kind of embarassing to stand there picking out my own engagement ring, not knowing what he likes or what his price range is.

He wants to get an idea of what you like. Why don't you find things you like in a variety of price ranges and let him go back and choose one for you.

consider this, he may really want to get you the best ring possible, but he may be shocked by the prices of rings, or the ones he can afford just look like ****. and that can be depressing when you want to do something for somebody but cant afford to do it the way you want to.
