If I was walking with a closed beer or closed liquor in a bag in public, can the police arrest or ticket me?

i live in new york city, in the bronx. i had 6 40oz. beers in a bag, and the police in front of my building asked what it was. i told them beer, and then my 21yr. old brother came out of the car and said i was bringing it up stairs. i just wanted to know if he could have done anything to me because of it

Yes you would be charged with possession of an age restricted product, Whoever made it available to you would be charged also.
(Again if you used a false ID to purchase it, you would be faced with additional charges of misrepresenting your age to obtain alcoholic beverage.)

Yes they could and if they found out who gave/sold it to you would also be arrested for giving it to a minor.
The question is will they do anything. If you were going from a car to a house or look as if you were just carrying it they probably would not. But if you were just hanging out in a park with other under age people and had it they probably would. It would come down to your attitude to the police and what else you were doing.

I'm a Brooklyn cop...yup you could be charged with a possession of alcohol charge. And depending on your attitude, you could be arrested or ticketed, or you could be just let go....You most likely had a good attitude with the cop, because he did let you go. Remeber we're not there to get the good guys, jsut the bad ones.

In Missouri, it is a criminal offense to possess alcohol if you are under the age of 21.
So, yes, I could ticket or arrest you for that offense.

Yes, it is illegal to possess underage which is what you were doing. I have written a ton of tickets for that.

no state or country listed. in AZ it is illegal to be in possession of alcohol under age. what were you planning to do with it? put it on a shelf for posterity?
