I have a year old tattoo that in some areas, is senstive to touch and feels tender, even area around the tattoo that is not tattooed. theres no redness, or swelling, but it is bothersome to me why a completely healed tattoo would feel like its a fresh tattoo?? its been like this for like 5 days..

Check back with the artist.
Could be a reaction to the ink.
Especially with red ink...

Your allergic to a certain type of ink allot of people are , I am. Any red in my tattoos occasionally raise up get a little itchy sometimes burn a little. You'll be fine it will go away and come back but you'll get used to it. I can almost bet you have allot of red in you tattoo allot of people have reactions to red ink. Also try not to scratch it and in the future treat it like you would sensitive skin , unscented lotions , keep out of the sun , stuff like that!

Well its like real estate.. location location location. Nerve endings are not the same everywhere. You might go to a dermatologist and ask if this is normal for a year old tatoo.. maybe the doctor can tell you something about your ink or location of the tatoo. I think its worth a trip to the dr to find out what's happening!!

I have had my tat for a year and it feels like the rest of my skin. I would definitely go to a professional and ask or go to the doctor.

There might be nerve damage or they tattooed it to deep.Nothing you can do about it ,it's like the toe that hurts when it rains..might be the weather activating it.

maybe the ink is dispersing into other layers of the skin...or there maybe something in the ink you are allergic to...and it's just now showing up.
