I was one of the first plankowners onboard the USS RONALD REAGAN (CVN 76). The ships actual crew size is 3200. When they deploy there is about 5800 Sailors onboard which is the crew plus the personnel from the airwings.

I served aboard the USS NIMITZ, the USS EISENHOWER, and the USS CARL VINSON. The USS RONALD REAGAN is in the same class of carrier.

With the airwing embarked, the ship's complement of officers and enlisted is about 5800.
