I was with my boyfriend for a year and a half he brought up marriage, moving in together, sharing a life, and everything. Hes not from Cali, so he even flew me home twice with him to meet his whole family. I thought everything was perfect and I found the perfect guy until.
A few days ago he told me he wasnt happy with himself, he feels like a part of him is missing and he needs to find himself. I agreed to give him space but he said he cant do it while hes with me. I know theres no one else. Anyway he said he still wants to call me and talk to me, and be there for me but that were just not together right now. He said he still loves me and just doesnt know what he wants to do with his life, hes stressed with school, job, moving, and us going through a long distance thing right now and he doesnt want to cut me out of his life. All he keeps telling me is that hes loves me he knows i love him and we will just have to see what happens. I dont know what to do...

I don't know if this is a question that can be researched. But I have been married for 25 years, part of that time it was very difficult. If he said he needs space, then ask what he hopes to accomplish with that space. You need closure, and he sounds as if he wants to keep you on the string. That's just my opinion. My husband still needs quiet time on his own. It no longer hurts me, but it's very different from how I am. You didn't say how old you were but I'm guessing you are young. Find your own interests and live your life. He IS NOT the only one out there. Be friends with him, but be interesting too. The best way to do that is to have hobbies and a wide variety of friends. Time is the best way to see how this will pan out. The only way to find out if someone will miss you is to give them a chance to be without you. That's very hard if you love someone, but it is possible. Everyone has things that they would like to do, learn and be. Get out there and have your own life. If you get back together for good, you will be even more of an asset to his life.

umm what i can say is that you should never wait on a man no matter how much you love him. don't stop your world for a guy. i understand the situation and it was a good thing that he stopped the relationship cause he felt something was not right with him. give yourself a self search as well and ask yourself if this is something you can wait on til' he finds himself. what if he does find himself and sees that you and him cannot be together that he would like you as a friend? than what, what are you going to do? i see that your thinking of him but you also have to think about yourself as well.

Well this is a good way to really find out if it is a perfect match. and you appear to be leaning toward waiting for him. and if there is no one else of interest , then why not, but do put a time limit on the waiting period, say 6 months or what ever you feel comfortable with.

Never wait for any man that has not already made a committment to you. Why should you put your life on hold while he tries to find his? He is just holding on to you as a possible booty call incase he can't find anyone better. Do not stand for any part of this. Tell him what he can do with his calls and then don't take them. Go find you someone who wants to be with you the way you want to be with them

Since you mentioned school, he may be torn between being with you and leaving his family to be with you in calif. Give him space for 3-6 months. Hopefully he will figure it out by then.

Move on and get over him girl! If he really wanted to be with you he never would of said anything...you need a man that wants to be with you as much as you want to be with him.
I Hope I Helped and Good Luck =]

i'd maintain a friendship, but it sounds like you are free to date other ppl. i wouldn't wait around, sounds like he could break your heart. maybe he will see the error of his ways. better he do this now then when you marry him.
