The illegal immigrants themselves are not the problem. We all know that illegal immigration could be stopped immediately if those who hire them were treated as the criminals that they are.
The illegal immigrants are simply desperate people. The humanitarian liberals and labor exploitive capitalist, that have formed this pro illegal immigration coalition, are the the problem.
Both of those factions are pursuing globalization and the New World Order at maximum speed. Each faction for it's own reasons.
This coalition reminds me of the fairy tale: "The Gingerbread Boy". The Gingerbread Boy was able to outrun everyone; until the Fox offered to give him a ride across the river. The last line of the fairy tale is: "And after that, the little Gingerbread Boy never said anything more at all." Do you think the humanitarian liberals are represented by the Fox or the little Gingerbread Boy?
Right now, I think the humanitarian liberals are listening to the Fox and jumping onto his nose.

I have a few students in my class who are Mexican. The liberal instructor asked these students if America was a better place to live than Mexico..... you'll never guess what their answer was. " Mexico was better." It is disgusting that these people hate America so much but they have no problem using tax money to pay for their health care, housing, and soon to be their education. I am sure it won't be long before these people are given the right to vote! In the name of political correctness we are discouraged from saying these people should not be welcomed here. Anyone who believes in protecting our borders is called a racist.

Switching countries does NOT mean you must switch your culture, take down that flag of yours, or get rid of your stupid clothes because Americans wear Abercrombie & Fitch. They can be proud of their country and still live in America because of family or jobs. From what I've learned, America is a nation of a whole different amount of cultures, and if it wasn't, it wouldn't be American.
What makes America unique is that it is made up of a LOT of different cultures. I'm pretty sure China, Japan, or even Africa as a whole have as many cultures as the US do.
Being proud of your country can't bring disrespect to anyone because the person next to you is no more "American" than you. You can't define being American because it's so many different things.

This is a nation of immigrants....the population is made up of people who either came from another place or their parents, grandparents did. (with the exception of the indigenous people).

There is nothing wrong in having pride in your roots and display symbols of the country where your family is from.

Too many people are knee-jerk "patriots" - many of whom don't display our flag and if they do, the display it incorrectly.

Let me tell you, your actions and opinions wouldn't play in the Northeast, where the immigrant populations are huge and the ethnic activities are huge and ongoing. Ever been to an Italian neighborhood for a festival? or a Greek festival? Polish? Mexican? Puerto Rican? Jamaican? What a learning experience you would have...too bad you live in such isolation.

One can be proud of the country they came from and still be more proud of being an American, perhaps because in America they can still show their pride of their former country.

You are very right. Unfortunately more people are moving to America to be on a welfare, rather then to be an american.
