I know not all women are, but I was surprised to hear so many of the ladies at my work the other day just wishing they could find an old rich guy with money. I am marrying someone who is fairly poor and is the sweetest guy in the world, so I just don't relate to this thinking. I dont need the money to be happy and I never have.

When I say fairly poor I dont mean he is on welfare. He makes around 33,000 a year. I make only 21,000 so we can afford to live ya know it all fool. Sorry, but Jeez!!!

I think that is just the way you view things, guys say that women are just about$, reality? they never giveit up, then girls say that want an old man to marry and set for life, reality? we never do, we are creatures of love and feelings, we usually go for that than $, what you've heard was just a wishful thinking, a woman that wants $, go for it, they are iether in top executive possitions, they are married to wealthy guys or they are having sex for $, so you are not going to find them at work, working!! The % of women that do go for money are alot less than the ones that go for love, and wishiful thinking, well......that is all it is.....which it makes me think, are most guys are just for looks or emotions, what about sex, are they just for the "ride"????

I don't think women are the only ones like this...there are just as many gold digging men out there as well.
Personally, I don't care about the money...I care about the person. If you've found someone to be with who makes you happy, who is always there for you, who would do anything for you...then you realize how much money just isn't an issue.

I don't believe all women are. Those are called golddiggers and I hate them. I could care less if the guy was rich. I want to actually fall in love with the guy. I care more about the personality. Money makes things more worse in life. It doesn't make me happy.

I don't think it is about the money, per se....I think it is a security issue...Even though women have crawled out of the ages where they stayed at home "barefoot and pregnant', I think most women still want to know they can comfortably choose to stay at home if they have children and I don't know many women that don't like to feel like they are "taken care of."

Well look at it this way, women are not allowed any of the vices men are, what are they supposed to want? Shopping is the only thing it is ok for women to do for fun, as a vice that is.
I have looking for a guy for all the "right" reasons for years and come up with one jerk after another. I am thinking I should shoot for money. Besides, what are men after but T and A, or someone to take care of them like mommy did.

Depends on the woman, as you have found out for yourself... but society does put a lot of emphasis on money being equivalent to personal success. You apparently value other things (personality) more than money :)

Obviously I didn't marry for money. It isn't the answer to everything but it does help out. The only thing we argue about is money. Maybe we all could use a SUGAR DADDY.

Cuppy cake you must be young , your marring poor for love , admireable but unrealistic what happens when you reproduce are we *(the taxpayers ) going to take care of it for you .Are we going to substidize you housing ,I give it 2 years before divorce wait until he gets his act together and finds a job or a better job
