Not much anymore. The cars are more alike now than they have ever been, and the majority of the field is Cup drivers on companion weeks. There are only a couple full-time non-Cup drivers this year competing. Most non-Cup guys are sharing a ride with a Cup driver (i.e. Aric Almirola, Todd Kleuver, etc...)
#1 difference~ The price!! Busch tickets are about half the price. Better seats, smaller crowd, less traffic, all the Cup drivers are ther. Much better deal!

Busch league.... it was initially for drivers trying to prove themselves ready for Nextel. But anymore, some Busch drivers have sponsors and contracts that tie them to the series and that is where they are going to stay. Nextel drivers often have Busch cars and will drive in that race the day before the Nextel race - some call it warm ups. It ticks off the full time Busch drivers because the part time Nextel drivers race on Saturday, kick their butt and take the 1st place prize money from them.
Next year it may not be called the Busch series - sponsorship ends this year. Rumor is WALMART series....clean up on turn 4
Attention Walmart Drivers........ start your engines... and I'm not touching the Blue Light Special jokes....

Busch is supposed to be the junior varsity version of Nextel... but on any given weekend you may find that 3/4 of the drivers in the Busch race actually are Nextel drivers as well (labeled Buschwackers). The Busch cars
are lighter, have a narrower wheel base and use different engines.

Busch series drivers are usually the ones that have come up from racing smaller engine vehicles. It's like going from High School Football to College to Pro. They have to start out at the bottom and move their way up. Once in the Nextel Cup, you will usually see rookie tape on their back bumper to let the more experienced drivers know he/she is less experienced.

The Carbutrator in the Busch engines are smaller than in the CUP series. If I am not mistaken also the SIZE of the engine in bother series cars...The weight..I do know IS different. I think its the wheelbase if I am NOT mistaken also!
.Also, this is just MY OPINION...DON'T KNOW IF ANY TRUTH IS BEHIND THIS: JUST SEEMED AND SEEMS LIKE IT:
25 years ago, when the Busch Series started, it was INTENDED to be used for "WINSTON CUP" then, (Now it called NEXTEL CUP) series ROOKIES to learn the basics of the SAME tracks to give them the "BOOST" they needed to get into the BIGGER, ELITE series of racing.
Also, too it used to be full of the YOUNGER drivers.

The Busch Series is the Junor Varsity version of NASCAR. The difference in the cars is the wheel base, compression ratio and engine power. There are more differences, but those are the big ones.
