Hi,
Congratulations on your engadgement. It sounds like your wedding is less than a year, so I hope you start your wedding decorating now. If it you want Sophisitication for your wedding, you may want to think about adding layers to your wedding. Like, many tablecloths for one table, different glasses for different reasons (like a champayne glass, water glass), and lots of varying silverware (like a salad fork, and soup spoon). I also recommend you decorate the trees on your land with "Colorful" battery powered lights, in case your wedding lasts for awhile into the night. I also hope you are able to choose your favorite "Colors" for your wedding, and keep a "Colorful" balance everywhere in your wedding decorating. Even though Sophistication decorating is Worldly, I recommend you stay with the decorating of yours and your husband's culture. Especially with alot of the food you serve people, should be the food of yours and your husband's culture and heritage. If your "Relatives" are from the "Country," why not get a country theme in your decorating for your Relatives, such as checkered tablecloths or checkered chair covers, small tea-candles on the tables, and country flowers centerpieces for your Tablesettings. I hope you decorate your wedding the way you like it to be decorated, and I recommend you import lots and lots of your favorite flowers from all over the world to decorate your wedding how you would like it. I hope your wedding has alot of beautiful memories for you. Have a very nice day.
Sincerely,
Erin Young

It certainly depends on the time of day.
If you are having the reception during the evening you could put up some white twinkle lights in the trees, along fences, the porch, etc...
Have "tiki" torches throughout the reception area to provide some light. Use hurricane lanterns with candles or oil wicks as centrepeices. Use swaths of white/ivory cotton sateen and wildflowers to dress your tables, chairs, etc.
Have a pergola or a gazebo built, under which you and your fiance can exchange your vows. Dress it with cotton sateen and wildflowers. You can also use a long swath of the sateen as an "aisle" , down which you, your fiance and the wedding party walk to the pergola/gazebo.
If there is a pool, you can use floating candles to dress it up.
Rent a tent to cover the tables, bar, food and dance floor. Hire a DJ, a caterer and a few servers. You can also rent the tables/chairs, dishes, a bar and a dance floor, etc... Look in your local phone book under party rentals. Most are reasonably priced when you compare the prices to those of renting a hall, banquet room, etc...
My best friend did something similar for her wedding. It was all done in her HUGE backyard and was absolutely beautiful and successful.
Hope you have a beautiful wedding and congratulations!!!

Sure...in the town where I used to lived some people had changed on old farm into a place to have weddings...so it could be a great location.....they put tables and chairs out under the trees ...strung white lights in the trees, had a place to dance on platform wood put out on the ground and a D.J......you could have a wedding arch decorated with lights and flowers, and the guests could sit in a different area in lined up chairs in front of the arch...or they could see the wedding from the tables...whichever you want.
If you line up rows of chairs, you can put flowers on the aisles, just like in church, candles, etc.
You also can have a piano near the front...or play the wedding march on recorded tape....Because you have so much room choose the spot to put out the tables, and a place for rows of chairs in a different spot...and be sure to notice how the sun faces, if it is still light when the wedding begins....the sun can cause real problems for guests...so be sure they have enough shade to see the wedding, and to wait in......
Our family had an outdoor wedding and we didn't discover the sun problem until we all arrived for the rehearsal...had to move and change all the chairs....but glad we did!

How about renting or building an arbor. You can cover it in flowers and/or vines. In June there should be a lot of flowers and plants in season. I would go to your local greenhouse and ask for ideas. Many places have people excellent with landscaping. Maybe some potted plants or flowers placed around the yard. You might also inquire about renting a outdoor fountain. That could be beautiful with flowers floating and candles lit around it at night.
Try to use things that can later be incorporated into your new home, or left as a thank you to your grandparents for sharing their home.
It sounds wonderful. ( I'm a country girl.)
Best wishes for a beautiful wedding and happy life together.

Set your tables up in a horse shoe shape with you and the groom at the u end like kings and queens, have balloons and ribbons all over everything, make you placement cards out off small pieces of leather with marks alot writing in old English, have a dance floor in the middle, with band at the aide out of the way have the grill on the other side opposite of the band lots of good wine and alcohol, go with the colors of the wedding and wear cloths that are comfortable for out doors.

wrought iron accents! I think this would be the perfect setting for old time elegance and the wrought iron look is just the thing.
I would suggest looking at www.charmelevents.com at the wrought iron "arches"?
also www.mancinoironworks.com
I like the idea of the shepard hooks? with the lights that someone else metioned also simple can be sophisticated too. Hang "fairy lights" everywhere trees, tables etc. Also tealight candles just dont over do with the flowers.

Wish I had a picture to show you.
The wedding was held under a tree on a farm. The "aisle was lined with shephards' hooks. On the hooks hung mason jars. Inside the jars were candles (lit). Wedding colored ribbon streamers were tied to the hooks and to the lower branches of the tree. They swayed in the light breeze.

I know the perfect solution if you are just starting with woodworking and also if you have already experience with it. I reccomend to give a look to this website ( woodworkingplans.kyma.info ) You can find a lot of woodworking plans and you will be able to manage the projects with a CAD/DWG software. It allows you to modify the projects and to alter the arragements. If you are a beginner this is the easiest way to start, it's the best approach to woodworking; and if you already have experience you will find a lot of ideas and inspirations to improve your abilities with woodwork. I'm sure that you will love it!
