I am not sure of a dye that will work since you usually have to dye something in water to make it even and cannot fit a couch into water. Why not try a slipcover, if you put it on right and it is the right size, you usually can't even tell it is a slip cover. TJ Maxx usually has nice ones for really good prices. They keep them in with the sheets.

Well you wouldn't want who ever sits on it to get the color on them so yes try a slipcover. But if that is too expensive for you then a comforter and if you want to keep it in place try using a pipe or wood in the seams where you can tuck in. I find it holds it in place rather than just tuking it in.
