On what make, model, type of vehicle??

Keep in mind for general purposes, raising your vehicles' center of gravity 12" is going to SUBSTANTIALLY CHANGE the handling characteristics of that vehicle. Your risk of roll over from sudden evasive maneuvers (swerving to avoid someone/thing) is increased exponentially. Keep in mind also that you will need to change tires, rims, brake assembly, drivetrain modification... just want to cover a few areas that will be expensive and need attention.

I wouldn't say not to do it, and when done properly, the safety factor is really the raised center of gravity.

think of suvs and cuse they are higer up and the wheels are not as wide they can rollover you doing the 12 inch lift on yours is foolish it may look cool but they have pnumatic suspention for showing off and when you want to dive on the normal roads you can let the car down it may me more costly but its better than you getting killed cause you rolled your car while missing a kid in the road
